Link & Benito
Personality description
Sometimes, rescue stories go far beyond simply saving a life. Sometimes, they allow us to see two little souls find each other and discover that together, they can overcome almost any challenge.
Here is the story of Link and Benito.
Link was found alone, then rescued and brought to safety. From the beginning, he has been an incredibly sociable, confident, and outgoing little kitten. He loves life, he loves humans, and he seems convinced that the whole world is his playground.
Benito's story is quite different.
He was found outside with his feral mom in a car dealership parking lot. Sadly, his siblings did not survive. He, just a tiny thing, was simply trying to survive in a world that had already been far too harsh to him.
Someone reported their situation to me. We managed to capture them, brought them to safety, and took them to the vet.
We eventually had to separate Benito from his mom, not because their bond didn't matter, but because he was absorbing all of her fear. To have a chance at discovering another life, Benito needed to learn about the world without being constantly surrounded by that fear.
And then… he met Link.
When Benito arrived at his foster home and met Link, something changed.
For the first time, Benito had a little companion capable of showing him what it means to be a kitten.
He started learning to play.
To explore.
To understand that humans could be kind.
To discover what love and trust are.
And above all, he understood that he no longer had to face the world all alone.
Link became his big brother, his teacher, the one who gives him confidence, and his little safe haven.
Today, the little boy who once survived in a parking lot is starting to explore, discover new things, play, and follow his big brother's example. Link shows him the way, and Benito is gradually discovering that life can be wonderful.
Link is the bigger one. Benito is the smaller one. But together, they are much more than just two kittens.
They are a story of survival, friendship, healing, and hope.
